In 2010, the Starz network premiered a highly anticipated television series, “Spartacus,” which quickly gained a massive following worldwide. The show was a fictionalized account of the life of Spartacus, a Thracian gladiator who led a major slave uprising against the Roman Republic in the 1st century BC. Two years later, in 2012, the network released a prequel to the original series, titled “Spartacus MMXII: The Beginning” or simply “Spartacus: Vengeance” in some regions, but also known as “Spartacus MMXII- The Beginning -2012-”.
