Shrek 1 To 4 ~upd~ May 2026

The first film in the franchise, simply titled “Shrek,” was released in 2001 and was a game-changer in the world of animation. Directed by Andrew Adamson and Vicky Jenson, the film tells the story of an ogre named Shrek (voiced by Mike Myers), who lives in a swamp and is feared and avoided by the local villagers. However, when his swamp is invaded by a group of fairy tale creatures, Shrek makes a deal with the villainous Lord Farquaad (voiced by John Lithgow) to rescue a princess from a dragon-guarded tower in exchange for the return of his home.
