“It was like they were trying to humiliate her,” said the mother. “They would make comments about her body, and say that she was ‘weird’ or ‘freaky.’ It was really hurtful to see her go through this.”

The family tried to talk to the school administration about the bullying, but felt that they weren’t taking it seriously enough.
